 DU signs MoU for course in Life Insurance Education

New Delhi : Delhi University (DU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MetLife India Insurance Company Limited (MetLife) to launch a special Life Insurance Education and Training program, called 'Yuvodaya', for students of the varsity.
         The MoU was signed between Professor Deepak Pental, Vice Chancellor of DU and Mr. Rajesh Relan, Managing Director, MetLife. The programme, which is specifically designed for DU graduates, will offer education and training in insurance sales practices, products and the legal and regulatory aspects of life insurance.   The course modules would be spread over three months and would also include on the job training for the qualifying students.

Post the successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a joint, University of Delhi - MetLife certificate. Meritorious students might also be provided with employment opportunities with MetLife as Financial Advisors, Sales Managers, or Operations Managers.

Providing details of the tie-up, Professor Deepak Pental said, "'University of Delhi is renowned for its leadership in developing and implementing innovative methods to help increase employment amongst the youth. Our youth define our future. It is our responsibility to ensure that our future has a strong foundation. This tie-up is one such initiative that will help provide the same."

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajesh Relan said, "We are looking at hiring over 2,000 sales managers and 30,000 financial advisors in the next two months. This association will help us strengthen our hiring initiatives."

"Both organizations are highly conscious of their own pivotal roles in the development of the country's social framework. Keeping this in mind, MetLife sees this as a great opportunity for the two organizations to come together and jointly implement an initiative to provide employment and social security to the youth", Mr. Relan added.

DETAILS OF THE PROGRAM
Eligibility Criteria : All students of Delhi University (DU) (Graduates) would be eligible for this course. Students who have passed out from University of Delhi in the year 2007-2008 are also eligible to apply for this course
Program Duration : 3 months duration comprising 3 days a week (including OJT)
Batch Strength : 30 students
Registration : Monday, December 22, 2008 - January 07, 2009
