Govt confers deemed status to Haryana based institute |

New Delhi : The Lingaya's Institute of Management & Technology, Faridabad has been declared deemed to be university by the Central Government on the recommendations made by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
This has been announced through an official release issued by the Government today. All the universities or institutions of higher learning are declared deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act (1956).
The Lingaya's Institute of Management & Technology in April 2005 requested to grant the status of deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. |

After examining the proposal submitted by the institute, the UGC has recommended the Central Government to declare Lingaya's Institute of Management & Technology, as a 'deemed-to-be-university on August 13th, 2008.
The declaration that Lingaya's Institute of Management & Technology, Faridabad is an institution 'deemed-to-be-a-university', shall be confirmed after a period of five years on the basis of the aforesaid review by an Expert Committee of the UGC.
