AIPMT or All India Pre Medical Test is an all India level medical aptitude test conducted every year by CBSE or Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to different medical colleges all throughout the length and breadth of the country. 15 percent of the total seats are reserved for the AIPMT qualified candidates in Medical and dental colleges run by the state government, local authorities and as well as the Union of India, except Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh.
Eligibility criteria
• Candidate must not be less than 17 years of age and must not be greater than 25 years of age as on 31st December, 2009.
• Candidates must have passed individually in each of Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English and must have got 50 percent of marks taken together. The said score is reduced by 10 percent for students belonging to SC, ST and OBC.
• Appearing candidates in 10+2 exams or equivalent are also eligible to write the exam.
• The maximum number of attempt that a candidate can take is limited to three.
Selection Procedure
Selection procedure is a bit different compared to other MBBS/BDS exams. A screening test of objective is held before the main subjective test to screen out the students. Only the students, who clears the Preliminary test is allowed to sit for the Main Exam.

* Sale of Application Form (By Post): 23/10/2008 to 21/11/2008
* Online submission: 22/10/2008 (10 A.M.) to 01/12/2008 (5 P.M.)
* Last Date of submission of filled-in application forms, both online and offline
* Preliminary Exam date: 05/04/2009
* Preliminary Exam Result: Third week of the same month, April
* Final Exam Date: 10/05/2009
* Final Exam Result: 1st week of June
