Banaras Hindu University BHU Medical Entrance Exam 2009

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) All India Competitive Written Test for admission to MBBS courses (63 seats) in two stages:

  • PMT/PAT-2009 SCREENING and
  • PMT-2009 MAIN

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India COMPETITIVE WRITTEN TEST for admission to MBBS course (63 seats) in TWO stages: PMT-2009 SCREENING and PMT-2009 MAIN, and to BDS (28 seats)/BAMS (57 seats) / B. Pharm. (28 seats) and B.Pharm.(Ay.) (Paid seats - 30) courses in ONE stage: PMT-2009 Screening.

BHU 2009 Date of Examination:

PMT-2009 SCREENING shall be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 between 9.30 AM and 12.30 PM at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres, to screen candidates for eligibility to take PMT-2009 MAIN examination for MBBS course which will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 between 9.30 AM and 12.30 PM at Varanasi Centre only.

For BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm./B.Pharm(Ay.) courses, candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PMT-2009 SCREENING.

BHU 2009 Eligibility:

BHU 2009 Qualifications Passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; (i) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm.(Ay.) - A minimum of 50% for general and 40% aggregate marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates; (ii) For B.Pharm. - A minimum of 60% marks for general & OBC and 55% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

BHU 2009 Distribution of Seats: M.B.B.S.(63 seats) : General - 42; OBC - 7; SC - 9 and ST - 5; BDS and B.Pharm. (28 seats each): General - 19; OBC - 3; SC - 4 and ST - 2; BAMS (57 seats) : General - 36; Foreign National - 3; OBC - 6; SC - 8 and ST - 4; B.Pharm.(Ay.) (Paid seats, 30): General - 15; OBC - 8; SC - 5 and ST - 2. Three percent seats are reserved for Physically challenged candidates in all the categories of the above courses.

Age: Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2009 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1993 and on or before 31st December, 1984 need not apply).
