Description :
WBJEE or West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is a state level entrance exam for admission to more than 50 Engineering colleges and more than 5 Medical college, scattered all over the state of West Bengal. For the year 2009, WBJEE invites application for professional courses like Engineering, Medical and Pharmacy in different Engineering and Medical Colleges across the state.

Eligibility Criteria


    * Candidate should be an Indian citizen, must have passed H.S. in 10+2 scheme or any other equivalent exam from a recognized University or board. Must have secured a minimum of 50 percent (40 percent for SC/ST) marks in Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Mathematics taken together and at the same time must not have got less than 30 percent in English (all categories). Additionally, candidates must have secured pass marks in every individual subject, including the fifth subject or any vernacular.

    * Candidate seeking admission to any of the engineering and medical college through WBJEE or their must be the permanent resident of the State of West Bengal or the candidate must be staying here for more than 10 years as on 31/12/2008. More so, candidate must be at least 17 years of age as on 31/12/2009.

Selection Procedure

Admission to different engineering and medical colleges in West Bengal is held through a written test which generally consists of four papers. Physics and chemistry is common to both medical and engineering candidates, whereas Mathematics is special for Engineering candidates and Biology for Medical candidates.
