Description:

Gujarat Vidyapith Ahmedabad was established by Mahatma Gandhi in October 18, 1920 as a mark of protest against the British education policy imposed upon by Lord Macaulay. The Government of India declared the Vidyapith as a deemed university in 1963. Sir Ballabbhai Patel and Dr. Rajendra Prasad were elected as Vice Chancellors also after Mahatma Gandhi. This university bears testimony to the freedom struggle of India laying emphasis on the Gandhian Philosophy.

It is spread over 21 acres of land and the entire zone is called Mahatma Gandhi Parisar.situated in Ahmedabad. The Vidyapith also has its centers at Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Valsad.
